OUR OLIVEOIL
from our own
On our property we have approximately 240 olive trees of mixed species and ages. They create a genuine Italian atmosphere on site, but they are also the basis for the olive oil we use in our food every day.
We prune the olive trees in early spring, and we trim them again shortly before harvest at the end of October/beginning of November. During the olive harvest, Casa Mauletta bursts with life when family and friends help us harvest the many kilos of olives.
Immediately after harvest, our olives are pressed into the most delicious cold-pressed virgin olive oil. It takes place at the olive press in the neighboring town, Citta Della Pieve, where they have a high-tech press which, at 26-27 degrees, transforms the raw olives into the green gold of Umbria – olive oil.
100% MAULETTA
As we have so many trees, we are 100% sure that our olive oil is from our own trees. If you only have a few trees, you cannot get your own press, and will have to join forces with other smaller olive farmers. The oil is poured into cans, and from November until we are out of stock, it is possible to taste and buy our olive oil in quantities from 0.25 liters up to 3 liters.
